I live in Boerne TX and am fortunate enough to have barn swallows nesting on my apartment porch. Two nests have hatched and flown and they are building a new nest. My apartment building keeps knocking the nest down, so I put up a sign that says they are protected under the migratory bird act, and it was illegal to remove nest. They work so hard to build the nest I couldn't stand to see it knocked down again. Attaching a picture of my last set of birds. I just love them and would rather have bird poop than ants or mosquitoes. Anyhow thought I would at least email another swallow lover.

Lucinda has just submitted a photo on a new Barn Swallow Nest being constructed. Interesting to see how the Barn swallow uses fixtures and fittings as a base.
